Day 1: Arriving in Kathmandu (Altitude: 1,400 meters)
On the first day of your journey, you’ll arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. When you land, you will be greeted by your guide, who will take you to your hotel. You’ll have some time to rest after your travel, and then, in the afternoon, you will meet with your guide for a trip briefing. During this meeting, your guide will explain the details of the trek, including the route, daily plans, and safety information.
Kathmandu is a busy and exciting city, full of history and culture. After your briefing, you can explore the city a bit if you feel up to it. You might want to visit some famous places like the Boudhanath Stupa or Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple. These sites are full of beautiful temples and amazing views.
In the evening, you will have a chance to enjoy a nice meal at a local restaurant. This is a great time to relax, meet other trekkers, and get ready for the adventure ahead. You’ll be staying in Kathmandu for the night before starting your trek the next day.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi (Altitude: 1,460 meters)
On the second day of your trek, you will drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi, the starting point of your trek. The journey takes about 7 to 8 hours, so be prepared for a long but beautiful drive. As you leave the busy city behind, you’ll begin to see the amazing mountain views. The road is winding and goes through small villages, green hills, and forests. Along the way, you may pass rivers and waterfalls, making the trip feel like a real adventure.
You’ll also get a chance to see the countryside of Nepal, where local people live in small homes and grow crops like rice and vegetables. As you get closer to Syabru Bensi, the road becomes a bit more rugged. When you finally reach Syabru Bensi, you will be in a small town surrounded by mountains. This is where your trek begins.
After a long day of travel, you will check into a local guesthouse to rest. Here, you can relax, enjoy a simple meal, and get ready for the trekking days ahead. The next morning, the real adventure begins as you start your trek into the beautiful Tamang Heritage region.
Day 3: Trek from Syabru Bensi to Gatlang (Altitude: 2,200 meters)
On Day 3, you will start your first day of trekking. After breakfast, you will leave Syabru Bensi and begin your hike to Gatlang, a beautiful village in the Tamang Heritage area. The trail is a mix of uphill and downhill paths, and it takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach Gatlang.
As you walk, you will pass through lovely forests, where you may see colorful flowers and birds. The trail is surrounded by green fields and farmland, and you will notice small villages along the way. The views of the Langtang mountains will start to appear, and you will see the beauty of nature all around you.
Along the trail, you will also pass by small Tamang villages, where the local people live in traditional stone houses. They are friendly, and some may greet you with a smile as you walk by. You will also see Buddhist stupas, prayer flags, and small shrines that are part of the Tamang culture.
When you arrive in Gatlang, you will feel like you are in a peaceful mountain village. You can rest at a local guesthouse, enjoy a warm meal, and relax after your first day of trekking. Day 4: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (Altitude: 2,600 meters)
On Day 4, your trek continues from Gatlang to Tatopani, which is about a 5 to 6-hour walk. After a good breakfast, you will begin your journey through beautiful landscapes. The trail goes uphill and downhill through forests, and you will pass many small villages. Along the way, you will see traditional Tamang houses and experience the culture of the local people.
As you walk, you will notice the stunning views of the Langtang mountain range in the distance. The path is surrounded by fields, and you may see people working in their farms, growing crops like potatoes and vegetables. The air is fresh, and you will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains.

Day 6: Trek from Thuman to Briddhim (Altitude: 2,230 meters)

The path is a mix of ups and downs, and you will pass by beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and villages. The fresh air and peaceful environment will make the hike enjoyable.

Day 7: Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel (Altitude: 2,480 meters)
On Day 7, you will leave Briddim and trek to Lama Hotel, which takes about 5 to 6 hours. The trail is mostly downhill at first, but you will slowly begin to go uphill as you get closer to Lama Hotel. As you walk, you will pass through beautiful forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine trees. The sound of birds chirping and the rustling of leaves will make the hike peaceful.
Along the way, you may also see some waterfalls and streams flowing through the forest. The path is a little more challenging today, but the surroundings are so beautiful that it will make the walk enjoyable. You might even see some animals like monkeys or mountain goats if you're lucky.
Lama Hotel is a small settlement along the way to Langtang Valley. It is a peaceful place, and when you arrive, you will check into a local guesthouse to rest. After a long day of walking, you can relax, enjoy a warm meal, and talk with other trekkers. The cool mountain air and the quiet setting make it a perfect spot to rest before continuing your journey toward Langtang the next day.
Day 8: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (Altitude: 3,430 meters)
On Day 8, you will leave Lama Hotel and begin your trek to Langtang Village, which will take about 5 to 6 hours. The trail today is mostly uphill, but the scenery will keep you motivated. As you walk, you will pass through beautiful forests filled with tall trees and colorful rhododendrons. The path will slowly open up, and you will start to see stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Langtang Lirung, which is the highest peak in the area.
As you walk higher, the landscape begins to change. You will notice fewer trees and more open meadows with grazing yaks and other animals. Langtang Village is located in a wide, peaceful valley with incredible views of the snow-capped mountains all around.
When you arrive in Langtang Village, you will feel like you’ve reached a special place. This village was once a large settlement but was affected by the 2015 earthquake. It is slowly being rebuilt, and the people here are very friendly and welcoming. You will stay in a local guesthouse and have a chance to rest, enjoy a warm meal, and take in the beautiful surroundings. The peaceful atmosphere makes Langtang Village a great place to relax after a long day of trekking.
Day 9: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin (Altitude: 3,870 meters)
On Day 9, you will leave Langtang Village and head towards Kyanjin, which is a short but beautiful trek that will take about 4 to 5 hours. The trail is mostly uphill, and as you walk, you will notice the landscape becoming more open. The path is surrounded by wide meadows and rocky areas, and you will see yaks grazing along the way.
As you trek, you will get incredible views of the Langtang Lirung peak and other snow-capped mountains. The air will become cooler as you climb higher, and you will begin to feel the peacefulness of being surrounded by such grand mountains. The views are truly amazing and will make the hike worthwhile.
When you arrive in Kyanjin, you will be in a small village surrounded by mountains. This village is known for its beautiful views and its small monastery. You can visit the local monastery, and if you’re feeling energetic, you can even walk to the nearby Kyanjin Ri viewpoint for even better views of the mountains.
You will stay in a local guesthouse in Kyanjin, where you can rest, enjoy a warm meal, and take in the stunning surroundings. It is a peaceful and special place to relax after a day of trekking.
Day 10: Exploration of Kyanjin Gompa and Climb Chorkari Ri (Altitude: 4,980 meters)
On Day 10, you will have an exciting day of exploration in Kyanjin. After a good breakfast, you will visit the Kyanjin Gompa, a small Buddhist monastery in the village. This place is peaceful and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The local people often come here to pray and meditate. You can take your time to enjoy the calm atmosphere and learn about the local culture.
After visiting the monastery, you will begin your hike to Chorkari Ri, which is a viewpoint located higher up the mountains. The trek to Chorkari Ri will take around 4 to 5 hours. It’s a challenging uphill hike, but once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung and other snow-covered peaks. The views from the top are incredible, and you will feel proud of your accomplishment.
After spending some time at the viewpoint, you will return to Kyanjin for the night. The hike to Chorkari Ri will be tiring, but it is worth it for the stunning mountain views and the feeling of being surrounded by such beautiful nature. You will stay in a guesthouse in Kyanjin, rest, and enjoy a well-deserved meal.
Day 11: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (Altitude: 2,480 meters)
On Day 11, you will leave Kyanjin Gompa and start your trek back down to Lama Hotel. This will be a long walk, taking around 6 to 7 hours. The path is mostly downhill, so it will be easier on your legs, but you still need to be careful with the rocky and uneven trails.
As you walk down, you will pass through beautiful forests of rhododendron and pine trees. You will see many small villages along the way, and the friendly locals may greet you as you pass by. The fresh air and peaceful surroundings will make the walk enjoyable, and the view of the Langtang mountains will still be in sight.
When you arrive at Lama Hotel, you can relax and rest after a long day of walking. Lama Hotel is a small settlement where trekkers stop to rest and recover before continuing their journey. You will stay in a local guesthouse and enjoy a warm meal. The peaceful atmosphere and the quiet surroundings of Lama Hotel make it a perfect place to relax after a busy day of trekking. You will sleep well, ready for the next day of your adventure.
Day 12: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi (Altitude: 1,460 meters)
On Day 12, you will trek from Lama Hotel back to Syabru Bensi, which will take around 5 to 6 hours. The trail is mostly downhill, so it will be a bit easier on your legs after a few days of uphill trekking. As you walk, you will pass through more forests and small villages. The path is peaceful and the surroundings are beautiful, with views of the mountains in the distance.
When you reach Syabru Bensi, you can relax and take a break after your trek. Syabru Bensi is the starting and ending point of the trek, and it feels good to be back in the village after your long journey. You will stay in a local guesthouse for the night.
In the evening, you will have a special dinner with your guide and porter. This is a great time to share stories about the trek, thank them for their support, and enjoy the warmth of good company. The guide and porter have worked hard to make your trip enjoyable and safe, and the dinner will be a nice way to celebrate the end of your adventure. After the meal, you can rest and prepare for the drive back to Kathmandu the next day.
Day 13: Drive from Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu (Altitude: 1,400 meters)
On Day 13, you will leave Syabru Bensi and take a scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The drive will take around 7 to 8 hours, and the road is winding and bumpy, so it’s a good idea to sit back and enjoy the views. As you travel, you will pass through small villages, green hills, and rivers. The journey will take you through the beautiful landscapes you saw on the way to Syabru Bensi, giving you one last chance to enjoy the natural beauty of Nepal.
Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you will have some time to relax and unwind. In the evening, your trekking company will host a special dinner to celebrate the end of your trek. This is a great opportunity to reflect on the adventure, share stories with your fellow trekkers, and thank your guide and porter for their help during the trek.
The dinner will be a wonderful way to end your trip with delicious food and good company. You can enjoy traditional Nepali dishes and celebrate the experiences you had during the Tamang Heritage Trek and Langtang adventure. After the dinner, you can rest and prepare for your departure the next day.
Day 14: Departure Day
On Day 14, it is time to say goodbye to Nepal and head back home. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu and driven to the airport. The drive to the airport will give you one last chance to see the city before you leave.
You can reflect on all the wonderful memories you made during the Tamang Heritage Trek and Langtang adventure. From the beautiful mountain views to the friendly local people and the experiences you shared with your fellow trekkers, this trip will surely stay with you for a long time.
Once you reach the airport, your guide will make sure everything is in order for your departure. You will check-in, go through security, and soon be on your way home. If you have time before your flight, you can do some last-minute shopping or just relax before your journey.

It is customary in Nepal to tip your lead guides and filled crew . You can give tips to your lead guide end of your trip, which will then be shared with the whole team. As part of our transparency initiative, the lead guide will distribute the tips to the guides and porters in your presence. A good rule of thumb is to budget around $ 120 USD per client you need to collect tips, and although the amount you give is entirely your choice.
